I started the first UK Adaptive class in the Autumn of 2012 as well as one to one tuition for different conditions (such as Multiple Sclerosis, cancer, Cerebral Palsy, fibromyalgia). The effect of Adaptive Yoga on students, whether in group or individually, has been remarkable, leaving me many a time deeply moved and always profoundly inspired to be doing such work.

The stories of physical change, increased mobility, agility, fully reconnecting with the body as a whole, learning to find acceptance so as to begin the indispensable journey of emotional healing are too numerous to list.

I believe that Yoga and its benefits are for Every Body, including people living with disability, loss or trauma such as partial or total paralysis, amputation, spinal cord injury, arthritis, and cerebral palsy, among many other conditions.

I apply the Principles of Adaptive Yoga to all my classes as these are universal and transcend disability.

Adaptive Yoga goes beyond working with people living with disability, it is a platform for shared humanity, where all  involved, participants, teachers, assistants come away enriched.
